Incontinent? You are not alone.

A recent article presented in MedConnect has looked at the role of ObGyns in identification and early education on Urinary Stress Incontinence. The challenge has been many women are too embarrassed to discuss their issue unless specifically asked about it.

The article gives some percentages for the US prevalence of incontinence, “According to a recent review from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, some degree of involuntary urine loss is experienced by 25% of young women, 44%-57% of middle-age and postmenopausal women, and 75% of elderly women in nursing homes. It went on to note that in 2004, annual costs associated with treating the condition averaged $19.5 billion.”

For many of these women, in Canada, IncoStress could be an ideal solution to preventing the involuntary loss of urine before considering such things as diapers and surgery.

The main message from this story is that you should not suffer in silence. Do not wait for your Healthcare professional to ask. There are things you can do to help you overcome this potentially debilitating disorder through some relatively simple steps, such as IncoStress.
